We Believe Every Language Deserves to Be Heard
MultiLangConvert exists to lower the barrier between curious people and the languages they want to explore. Every language that disappears takes irreplaceable human knowledge with it โ a way of seeing the world that can never be fully recovered. Ancient languages, endangered dialects and regional vernaculars all deserve the same modern digital tooling that the world's biggest languages take for granted. We build small, free tools that make those languages a little more reachable for anyone with a question and an internet connection.
Our Story
MultiLangConvert grew out of a simple frustration. If you want to translate a sentence into Spanish or French, a dozen excellent tools will do it instantly. But if you are curious about Old Norse, Sumerian, Cajun French or the language of the Navajo Code Talkers, the mainstream tools simply ignore you. Serious academic resources exist, but they are often expensive, technical and intimidating to a casual learner. Between the two extremes there was a gap โ nothing aimed at the curious person who just wants to explore.
We set out to fill that gap with honesty built in from the start. Today the site offers 18 translation tools, each wrapped in a genuine educational guide to the language: its history, its writing system, a reference vocabulary and answers to the questions people actually ask. We would rather offer 18 tools we can stand behind than claim a hundred we cannot. Everything here is free, and every page is upfront about exactly what the tool can and cannot do.
How We Build Our Tools
Our tools are dictionary-based, not artificial intelligence and not Google Translate. Each one maps English words and common phrases to forms drawn from published scholarly sources โ works like Zoรซga's dictionary for Old Norse and the Bosworth-Toller dictionary for Old English. Because the dictionaries are curated by hand, we can be precise about what is included and clear about what is missing.
We also state the limitations plainly on every single page. What we are not: we are not AI translation, and our tools are not suitable for professional, legal or medical use. What we are: educational tools for learning, creative projects and curiosity. We review and expand the content regularly, and we genuinely welcome corrections.
The Team
MultiLangConvert is built and maintained by a small independent team of language enthusiasts. We are passionate learners rather than credentialed academic linguists, and we think it is important to say so clearly. We rely on cited scholarly sources for our vocabulary and history, and we welcome corrections from specialists who know these languages far better than we do. If you spot an error, please tell us โ it makes the site better for everyone.
Why Ancient Languages Matter
By some estimates a language falls silent roughly every two weeks, a loss documented in resources such as the UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger. We do not pretend to be language preservationists โ that vital work belongs to communities and scholars. We see ourselves as a gateway. If one of our tools nudges someone to study Old Norse seriously, to reconnect with their heritage, or simply to respect a language they had never heard of, we have done something worthwhile.
